During the Spring Term the Art Department ran a very successful and enjoyable ceramics workshop for students and staff of Redland High and QEH with the artist Jitka Palmer.
It was an incredibly inspiring experimental day for both staff and the 20 pupils from Years 9 to 13 who attended. We were very pleased to welcome several members of QEH staff and pupils who also found the day extremely beneficial.
Jitka uses a decorative slip painting technique on clay and her work draws on an acute observation of the world around her. Her fascinating lecture made us realize that we should follow our dreams and let ourselves be inspired by all we see around us.
The day was so successful that we plan to run further workshops enabling us to extend our knowledge of other new techniques.
