Redland High Artists visit the Capital
Published: 11 Nov 2010
Art and History of Art students enjoyed an inspiring day in London visiting the Tate Britain and Tate Modern galleries. This visit gave the students first hand experience of many renowned paintings and sculptures.
The group were also able to see for themselves how artists employ different media, the textures of paint and the scale of works that they usually only see in reproduction.
Works of art they enjoyed ranged from Constable's much loved landscapes and Turner's paintings of Venice to Giacometti's bronze figures and Damien HIrst's sheep in formaldehyde.
The day also included plenty of landmark sightseeing along the banks of the Thames.
A great day all round!
