BBC News School Report
A team of enthusiastic Redland High media entrepreneurs have been reporting the news for real on 27 March 2014 as they take part in BBC News School Report.
BBC News School Report gives students in the UK the chance to make their own news reports for a real audience.
The Redland High BBC School Report Team perfected the skills required to publish their news by 1600 GMT on the day and dealt extremely well with the pressure!
See their newsreel below as they interviewed on of Redland High's teachers who cut off 40 inches of hair for a children's cancer charity.

From the BBC School Report Team: As anyone on social media will know this week a worldwide phenomenon has stormed across the internet. Women are posting 'no makeup selfies' in their thousands. This craze sees women posting pictures of themselves wearing no makeup and texting a donation to a leading cancer charity followed by nominations for their friends to do the same. This has raised a staggering 8 million pounds in just 6 days. However, here at Redland High, we have all been inspired by one of our very own teachers who went one step further than the no-makeup-selfie for a cancer charity.
For the second year running, Redland High School will be supporting the global Earth hour. To take part the school will turn out all lights from 8:30 until 9:30am, meaning we will have our morning assembly in the dark! The global Earth hour is officially on the 29 March, but since this is a Saturday Redland High will mark the event on the previous Friday.
Redland High were honoured to have a visit from Mrs Mary Prior MBE JP who is Lord Lieutenant of the County and City of Bristol and she spoke to the School about her role. She gave a fascinating talk including the history of the position dating back to the reign of Henry VIII and the many events she attends to represent the Queen. The Diamond Jubilee and Royal Wedding were also highlights of her talk.
