Performance Poetry in the Sixth Form

Sixth Form students of English Literature thoroughly enjoyed their morning in a performance poetry workshop with Lucy English, senior lecturer in creative writing at Bath Spa University.

After Lucy English had explained what performance poetry is and given examples of her own work, the girls wrote their own group performance poem on the theme of 'Identity', and were very positive about the experience.

“It showed that poetry doesn‟t have to be static on a piece of paper” said one. “It was challenging, educational and fun” was the view of another.
