The Peru Shop Opens

Readers will remember that in the summer of 2007 a group of Redland High students visited 'Azul Wazi', a small orphanage in Cuzco, Peru, to give them money previously raised by the School. To strengthen our links with 'Azul Wazi' we have now opened our very own Peruvian goods shop at School!

They have sent us an extensive range of products to sell, such as Alpaca scarves, gloves and finger puppets. All the profits we make will go to the orphanage to give them further support. We have kept in close touch with the centre and have been happy to hear of recent developments there, such as a vegetable patch and the purchasing of bicycles for the children.

The shop will be open at the forthcoming School play and there will also be opportunities in School during the next few weeks for girls to visit the shop and place orders. This is a great initiative by Redland High girls, and we hope you will give us your support. On its first opening at a recent Open Evening the shop made an impressive £150.
