Redland High and QEH joint pastoral evening

Redland High and QEH joint pastoral evening

120 parents of girls from Redland High and boys from QEH met in the Redland High Hall to find out more about the tricky task of ‘Understanding Teenagers'. This was the first of this year's joint Redland High/QEH Pastoral evenings for parents and we were all very impressed by the practical and well researched information and advice that Lucinda Neale, a well known expert in this field, was able to give.

Joining the parents were staff members from both schools. It was a very successful evening, showing just how committed parents of the pupils of these two leading independent schools are to ensure their sons and daughters get the best possible start in life.  Everyone wishes to do their best to meet the various challenges that being a parent can bring, particularly in navigating the sometimes turbulent waters of the teenage years and we were given a great deal of information about the physical and neurological changes that teenagers experience and the ways in which this can have an effect of emotions and behaviour. Lucinda was also able to answer specific questions for those parents or staff members who wanted some advice in dealing with particular issues.

This was a well attended, informative and supportive evening. Many small groups of parents remained behind when the talk was over, discussing ideas and experiences.

We look forward to the next event planned for the Spring Term. Watch this space!
