Extended Project Qualification
Three Year 13 pupils undertaking the Extended Project Qualification recently made presentations of their research to an audience of approximately 30 people, including staff, governors, parents, students and friends.
Sophie Copley-Moorby, Julia Loveless and Lucy Walters each spoke for 15 minutes, giving brief but extremely detailed and informative overviews of their research projects. They then fielded questions from the audience, demonstrating an impressive depth of knowledge and understanding of their chosen research areas.
All three candidates performed superbly, delivering polished and sophisticated presentations, which showcased both their research and their presentation skills. The projects were on equine laminitis, the environmental impact of dams, and the clinical applications of monoclonal antibodies.
The qualification is a new initiative for Redland High. It is the equivalent of half an A Level and is highly regarded by the universities.
Congratulations to all three girls for their performance, and many thanks to those who attended to offer their support.
