International Problem Solving? No probs for Redland High!
Published: 11 Feb 2011 updated: 13 Feb 2011
Two Redland High teams - the only girls' school in Europe to take part - spent a day at QEH to compete in the International Future Problem Solving 'Global Issues' programme. Four-girl teams from Year 7 and Year 9 tackled problems that could arise in a future scenario centred around the subject of Genetic Testing.
The girls had researched the topic in advance, but the actual problem set was unseen. After some time for preparation and discussion, they had two hours to produce a written solution in booklet form. The booklets have been submitted to the University of Wisconsin, where, if the girls are successful, they will be invited for the finals.
As the only girls' school in Europe to take part in this competition we are eagerly looking forward to the results!
